Music as healing

Sunday afternoon, Music and healing: Guest teachers, Gina Halpern, and Jean.  Jean sung native American songs.  Gina told her own story of being a visual artist, healing herself with photography, then shared her mandala series made to music.  Jean made a medicine wheel and sung.  She drummed and the class did a guided imagery to find what could not be taken away from them.  We then wrote that down on prayer flags, wrote words and put them on a stone and made a chant we sung together to heal.  We did a closing where we put shawls on each other and prayed and sung.  The class included combining music with imagery, drumming, examples of healing music from around the world, and chanting,. It was about having faith in this work, doubt, and being a healing artist.
